The 2013 Seersucker Social (part II pics): Same Style. Different Destination.

With  so many excellent photographs too choose from, it was difficult to make selections for the posts on this past Sunday. The ride and social at Carderock brought familiar faces and first timers  together in a wonderful new setting we’ll have to visit again. Enjoy these and head to the Worn Magazine blog for Nicole Aguirre’s amazing images and portraits from our day.

August 18 – High Wheelers gathered and raced in Frederick, MD!

On August 18, 2012, Frederick Maryland was the scene of a high wheel race that included 25 brave high wheel enthusiasts including three time Tour de France winner Greg Lemond! D&Q Tweed Ride participant and high wheel cyclist, Eric Rhodes organizes the event and sent in a link to a Washington Post article on the event.  Perhaps next year, we can organize a group of us dandies to get out to Frederick for this and enjoy the day!

We will be showcasing 4 images per day this week on the D&Q blog.  If you spot someone you know, tell them where they can find their photo.  If you see yourself, pat yourself on the back for looking amazing.

The Art Deco Society of Washington to host Vintage Fashion Show

Spend the afternoon in Alexandria on March 25, 2012 and treat yourself to a vintage fashion show at the Carlyle Club.

“The Art Deco Society of Washington’s popular Vintage Fashion Show returns at a new venue–The Carlyle Club–the Washington area’s premiere Art Deco-style nightclub. It will again be led by Lori Crandall… with commentary by Donna Limerick. The afternoon kicks off with a reception featuring complimentary hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages. A cash bar will be available for those seeking something a bit stronger.

Following the reception, attendees will be seated as our male and female models show off their fashions from the 1920s through the 1950s. ”
