Linus Bicycles: The little bike company that could.

After the Tweed Ride, we’re hosting a fashion show to present looks by local designers Junction, Ginger Roots Designs and Elizabeth Schalk. Over the past few months, we searched for a bicycle company interested in helping us pair elegant looks with elegant wheels.  Linus Bicycles fits the bill.  Inspired by French utilitarian bicycles of the 50′s and 60′s, they’re perfect for hitting the streets in style. We, at D&Q, have an obvious affinity for the combination of the bicycle and the graceful image of a well-heeled traveler. The production of a fashion show featuring bicycles was a temptation we could not resist.  Linus has recently introduced five new elegantly designed machines to the American market. You can find these bikes on Sunday after the Tweed Ride accompanied by smartly styled models, or any other day at local shop BicycleSPACE.

Native South Africans and avid surfers, Chad Kushner and Adam McDermott who landed in Venice California, noticed the need for the kinds of bikes they’d seen on their travels around the world. Three years ago, they began designing their own line of bikes, implementing a clean, elegant style with attention to detail.  Add touches like a mid-century replica safety bell, real leather grips and a great assortment of accessories and you have a classy and timeless means of transporting yourself around town.

Linus Bikes, in conjunction with BicycleSPACE, is being gracious enough to not only provide pre-ride bicycle safety checks for tweed riders, they will be donating a bike to be raffled off at the end of our fashion show.  Select Linus bikes will also be available for participants to test ride. Be sure to ask a Linus representative or BicycleSPACE associate if you have any questions about the Linus bikes available this Sunday.
